An active clinician and performer, Brandt was selected as a National Band Association Young Conductor semi-finalist in 2017 and in 2019 his world premier of An Immigrants Story by Marat Sanatullov received the American Prize , Third Place. He studied conducting with nationally renowned Carolyn Barber, Peter Eklund, Benjamin Schneider, Aaron McDermid, and Tyler White. He was appointed associate conductor of the 451st Army Band, the Jack R. Snider Campus Band, founded and served as the first music director of The Pershing Winds, and currently serves as Director of Instrumental Activities at Morningside University in Sioux City, IA.

Christopher studied conducting with Benjamin Schneider and J. Aaron McDermid at the University of Jamestown where he was appointed Associate conductor of Athletic Bands, Assistant Conductor of the Fall musicals, and conducted rehearsals in the absence of instructors. In 2009 Brandt was appointed an Associate Conductor of the 451st Army Band leading to conducting appearances throughout the United States. In the Fall of 2015 Brandt earned a Master's of Music in Wind Conducting from Sam Houston State University where he studied with Dr. Anthony Maiello, Dr. Peter Boonshaft, Dr. Matthew McInturf, and Dr. Robert Ponto. Brandt holds a doctorate in wind band conducting from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln under the instruction of Dr. Carolyn Barber.

With considerable professional, ameture, and school conducting experience, Brandt is available for guest conducting events throughout the midwest. Similarly, with experience teaching beginning and advanced conducting courses Brandt is available for clinics and symposiums in conducting.
